Lord Roy Kennedy of Southwark has been appointed as the new National Pubwatch Honorary President. He has worked closely with the pub and hospitality trade over many years in his role as a Labour Vice-Chairman of the All-Party Parliamentary Beer Group.

Steve Baker Chair of National Pubwatch said “I am delighted that Roy has agreed to take on this role. His enormous political experience will be an invaluable support to the National Pubwatch Committee in promoting awareness of the positive impact of the many hundreds of Pubwatch schemes that have been established across the UK”

Lord Kennedy said “For over 20 years, Pubwatch has been making an enormous contribution to reducing crime and anti-social behavior in the night –time economy.   I am honoured to have been asked to become its President and will use every opportunity to highlight in Parliament the vital role of Pubwatch in ensuring the safety of everyone who works and socialises in our town centres”.
