National Pubwatch is pleased to announce that the application process for the 2020 Pubwatch Awards is now open.
The award which is now in its 9th year, is once again being sponsored by JD Wetherspoon.
Finalists will attend a prestigious awards dinner in the House of Lords on 21st October 2020. The event is being hosted by NPW President Lord Kennedy of Southwark.
The award is a fantastic opportunity for Pubwatch members to receive recognition for the huge amount of work they do to keep their staff and customers safe.
Steve Baker Chair of NPW said: “Every year we see really great examples of Pubwatch schemes which successfully tackle local ASB issues for the benefit of their members premises and the wider community. I would urge Pubwatch members to take advantage of this opportunity to showcase their work. We are obviously acutely aware of the strains that the current Coronavirus pandemic is having on the pub trade but I know that this crisis will bring out the best in its community spirit.”
The winners of the 2019 award were Nottingham City Pubwatch. The Chairman of Nottingham City Pubwatch Mike Knight said: “Since winning the National Pubwatch Award our membership has grown tremendously to almost 250. We will soon need a bigger cinema to host our Pubwatch meetings! The increase in membership has certainly been driven by the award.”
The on-line application process is open until 28th August. The application form and details of previous winners can be seen here
