29/6/22: Milk Bar in Merchants Place has become the first licensed premises to become accredited in the prestigious Reading Best Bar None scheme for 2022. The recently launched scheme is open to all licensed venues in the Reading area to have their policies, procedures and training records scrutinised by an external independent auditor and matched against the demanding criteria set by the Board of the National Best Bar None Scheme.

The scheme aims to promote high standards of operations in licensed premises, the sharing of best practise and partnership working to make Reading’s Night Time Economy a safer place to work and enjoy a night out.

The Reading Best Bar None scheme is sponsored by the Reading Business Improvement District and is organised by Reading Pubwatch.

Alexa Volker, Reading’s BID manager said “The BID are delighted to sponsor the BBN accreditation scheme and support licensed pubs, bars and restaurants to aspire to achieving this excellent award.”

Bill Donne – Secretary of Reading Pubwatch said: “Reading Pubwatch is grateful to the Reading BID for sponsoring the BBN accreditation scheme. It is anticipated that over twenty-five venues in Reading will become accredited over the next five months”.
